Popular Pre-Owned Jeeps

Commander

Type: Full Sized SUV
Drive: Rear and optional Four Wheel Drive (4WD)

The Jeep Commander is exactly that:  a commanding presence in a large field of wannabe multi-purpose vehicles. As such, Jeep's latest SUV is aptly named; it possesses every inch of the go-anywhere bravado implicit in its moniker. With three rows of seating and room for up to seven passengers, the Commander is the most spacious SUV Jeep has ever produced.  The Commander is a top-notch off-roader, able to tackle steep, rocky paths and high mountain trails without stress or strain.

The base Jeep Commander comes with a standard 3.7-liter V6 engine with 210 horsepower. The Limited model has a more powerful engine, the 5.7-liter V8 with 357 hp and 389 lb-ft of torque. Commander also offers an optional four-wheel-drive system, with Hill Start and Descent Assist technology. All models come with a five-speed automatic transmission.  Buyers praise the Jeep Commander for its off-road capabilities, and stating that the 5.7-liter V8 is powerful and relatively fuel-efficient.

Grand Cherokee

Type: Mid Sized SUV
Drive: Rear and optional Four Wheel Drive (4WD)

Jeep defined the midsize SUV class of vehicle in the early 1990s. The Grand Cherokee was a bigger, better version of Jeep's smaller Cherokee.  Stylish, comfortable, powerful, and still every bit the 4X4 that  made Jeep famous, it quickly became, and has remained, one of America's top sellers during the course of it's lengthy production run.

Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always featured a unibody chassis giving it car-like safety, comfort, and handling characteristics. The Grand Cherokee retains its off-road core competencies due to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems.

Wrangler

Type: The Original 4X4
Drive: Rear and optional Four Wheel Drive (4WD)

Ever since it was first introduced, the Jeep Wrangler has claimed the title of king of all off-road vehicles. This SUV's lineage goes back more than 60 years to the original military GP or "General Purpose" vehicle.

The  Wrangler name was given to the legendary vehicle in the mid-1980s. The Jeep Wrangler continues the lines of original Jeep heritage in terms of off-road performance, with a combination of short wheelbase, minimal front and rear body over-hangs, and highly maneuverable steering.  The most recent version of the Wrangler is more civilized, with an optional four-door body style, a more contemporary interior and new safety and convenience features. But die-hard Jeep enthusiasts shouldn't be too worried about this softening: The latest Wrangler stays true to its original purpose of providing rugged off-road capability and distinctive style.  One must test-drive a Wrangler with the top down or completely off to fully appreciate the overwhelming "fun factor" that the Jeep Wrangler offers that most of its competitors simply do not.
