90th Pikes Peak Hill Climb Race to the
Clouds
(Pikes Peak Colorado)
Race On!! GO MONSTER!!
Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima
Last year, Tajima
smashed the long-standing 10-Minute hill climb record in
his specially modified SX4 Hill Climb Special.
Even
as Monster was
conquering
"America's Mountain" in one of America's
oldest
and most historic races,
Monster was setting his sights on a new
challenge... For 2012
Monster debuts his all-new
ALL ELECTRIC E-Runner. This part-rally car,
part-Formula 1 car, has already created a major buzz in
the motorsport community. This stunning engineering marvel will not only
challenge the other electric cars in the race, but will also
challenge every other vehicle in the race
for the overall title and new Pikes Peak Hill Climb Record.
With this challenge, Tajima stands to not only make Pikes Peak Hill
Climb history, but also motorsports history, and even automobile history
itself. This race will be one of the first sanctioned road racing
events where electric and gasoline powered vehicles compete head-to-head.
It is a battle for the future... on an awesome
stage over 14,000 feet high!
GAS VS.
ELECTRIC
How can an electric car compete
against other 800 to 1,100 horsepower gasoline powered cars?
First, with the summit of Pikes
Peak at 14,000 feet, a gas powered motor loses almost 30% of its
power. An electric motor carries no such power
loss at altitude. Second, the twisty uphill vertical road course favors
machines with great acceleration. Acceleration is all about torque and
lots of it. A gas powered motor has a torque curve that reaches its
highest torque output at just one point in its acceleration cycle.
An electric motor delivers 100%
torque instantly and throughout its entire acceleration
cycle. These two characteristics actually give an electric
powered car a distinct performance advantage over its gasoline powered
competition--above and beyond its obvious environmentally friendly
appeal.
Monster Tajima, Joe McCloskey and Ann McCloskey, invite YOU to
be part of this historic event at McCloskey Imports & 4x4's.
Monster and Team will be at our dealership at 6710 North Academy Blvd
